How We Ensure
Independent Assessment
Each engagement is conducted under four foundations that ensure independence and rigour, set out below. Our analytical work is supported by a proprietary, internal AI-augmented analysis system. How this system is used, the human oversight that governs it, and our data handling practices are published on our AI Disclosure page.
Assessment Separated from Implementation
We assess opportunities. We don’t implement them, and we don’t sell vendor products or implementation services. This separation prevents the consulting conflict where implementation revenue shapes assessment recommendations. Our revenue comes entirely from assessment work. Your constraints—regulatory requirements, legacy systems, data quality, organisational capacity—define what’s actually possible. We work within these realities and won’t recommend approaches that depend on constraints disappearing.
Research Extension
Our assessment framework was developed with input from Deakin University’s Applied Artificial Intelligence Initiative (A2I2). That input keeps the methodology calibrated to current AI capabilities and proven implementation patterns in regulated lending environments. In an engagement, evidence is evaluated against what AI systems actually deliver in production, not how vendors describe them or what generic capability claims project. This leaves us better prepared to overcome the failure modes that recur in AI assessment: oversimplified frameworks, generic opportunity lists that collapse when regulatory requirements come into play, recommendations that can’t survive contact with production reality.
Production Experience Application
We’ve built AI systems operating under regulatory scrutiny. IFRS 9 expected credit loss models across multi-brand lending portfolios passed external validation. Through feasibility investigation conducted with A2I2, we examined AI-assisted income verification, establishing where models deliver value and where they create new compliance obligations. We’ve navigated regulatory interpretation, vendor dependencies, and data limitations in production, and that experience informs every feasibility assessment.
Research Investigation for Complex Challenges
Where an engagement involves questions at the frontier of applied AI in regulated lending — novel deployment architectures, unproven applications, or technically complex compliance pathways — we can collaborate with A2I2 for specific research services. Teams of AI researchers and engineers investigate technical feasibility and evaluate approaches in your regulatory environment before commitment. Investigation services are separate from standard assessment and organised when deeper technical validation is required.
